I remember 1998 like yesterday, sitting outside the Bilzerian Gym crying after Havasu State volleyball upset ASU. My joy had been turned upside down when the team and administration ignored my offers to host a party in the parking lot.
A seemingly kind young man noticed me and asked if I was okay. Unable to speak through my blubbering he handed me a pencil and pad so that I could express myself.
Six months later my words was a #1 smash hit song. The lad did me dirty.
And yet that’s not why I’m still weeping.
No nay-nays. No whips.
